TICKETS are now on sale for a
star-studded concert to celebrate the grand opening of the
$1.8 billion, 3,000-room Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino. The
Jan. 19 concert will be hosted by comedian Wayne Brady and
will feature performances from Diana Ross, Andy Garcia and
the Cineson All Stars, the Las Vegas cast of "Jersey Boys"
and surprise guests. A limited number of tickets are

THE BELLAGIO Gallery of Fine Art will
launch a new exhibit on Feb. 8 entitled "American
Modernism." The exhibit, to run through Oct. 15, was
organized by the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and promises
works from modernists including Georgia O'Keeffe, Stuart
Davis, Marsden Hartley and Arshile Gorky. For more

VISITORS TO LAS VEGAS departing on Delta,
US Airways, United and Southwest can now check their bags at
several locations along the Strip, thanks to the Airport
SpeedCheck Advance program at McCarran International
Airport. For a $20 fee, travelers flying participating
airlines can check baggage at one of four off-airport
locations: the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, the Las Vegas
Convention Center, the Luxor Las Vegas and the McCarran
Rent-A-Car Center. Bags are transported to the airport,
screened by the Transportation Security Administration and
loaded onto the passenger's aircraft. Passengers not
checking bags can check in for flights at those locations
free of charge. McCarran officials said they expected more
airlines to join the program soon and hoped that eventually
10% of all outbound baggage would be checked at off-airport
locations.
